Responsible Gambling Nigeria

Set the limit before the match

Decide how much you can afford to lose in a week and treat it as the price of entertainment. Never use money meant for rent, school fees or food, and never borrow to bet.

Most bookmakers let you set daily, weekly or monthly deposit limits in the account settings. Set them when you register, not after a losing run.

Warning signs

Chasing losses with bigger stakes, hiding betting from family, feeling restless when you cannot bet, or believing a “sure” draw will fix a loss are signs that betting has stopped being a game.

Tools and support

Use time-outs and self-exclusion in your bookmaker account to block yourself for weeks or months. If gambling is affecting your health or money, talk to a doctor or counsellor. Gamblers Anonymous runs free online meetings in English, and GambleAware publishes free self-help material.
